Septic Tanks
OMDI have been designing, installing and repairing septic tanks for over 20 years for both commercial and domestic buildings. Septic tanks are made from polyethylene, fibreglass, brick or concrete and are typically found buried underground to collect wastewater. Designing a new system can be a complicated matter, the wrong size tank can cause many problems, as can installing the tank at the wrong point in the property. Sewage treatment plants
OMDI is an independent company providing design, installation and servicing of sewage treatment plants, who install brands such as Klargester, Tricel, Vortex, Falcon, Condor and Bio Cell in both commercial and domestic properties. Sewage treatment plant systems remove contaminants leaving environmentally-safe wastewater. As there are so many brands, it can be tough to know which system is best which is why OMDI asks so many questions to ensure you have the product you need, a product which is watertight, durable and structurally safe. Soakaways
As off-mains drainage installer specialists, OMDI provide full land drainage services including percolation tests to ensure your property is compliant with building regulations. Soakaways are a traditional way to get rid of rainwater and liquid sewage waste, as they store the fluid allowing for increased soil infiltration via gradual release. The size of the soakaway, distance from and the size of the property, and the ground itself are all factors in soakaway design. Drain surveys
Along with building surveys, drain surveys are common practice when purchasing both domestic and commercial properties which cost only £249. Having a drain survey ensures there are no nasty shocks after purchasing the property, as the survey will indicate the condition of the system and where the process falls down. The main issues discovered after typically tree damage, age and blockages, which are better and cheaper to deal with as soon as possible. Read more about our drain surveys here.
Grey water systems
Irrigation systems using grey water are a great way to dispose of waste water; grey water is the wastewater produced by shower, baths and sink water which can be recycled as it is not contaminated. Grey water can be recycled both homes and offices, and generally makes up 50-80% of a household’s wastewater. One way of recycling grey water is to use it in a garden irrigation system; treating the water rids it of harmful pathogens which can then be used to help your garden grow whilst saving you money. Surface water drainage
Surface water drainage such as attenuation tanks control groundwater drainage by detecting the heaviness of the flow of water; a moderate flow is gradually released but a heavy flow causes the water to be stored in a chamber, which is then opened and the water released after the flow has lessened.
